Dear Subscriber,

Did you know April is National Donate Life Month? As of 10:27am today there are 101,622 men, women, and children across the United States waiting on the national organ transplantation waiting list. Even though more transplants are being performed each year the number of people waiting for a donor organ continues to climb higher and higher. On 03/09/2001 UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing) released a press release stating that “the number of people waiting to receive a lifesaving organ transplant in the United States has surpassed the unprecedented 75,000 mark”. In only short eight years the number of people waiting for a life-saving donor organ has increased by 25,000 people. You can make a difference! I encourage you to become informed about the facts of organ and tissue donation today and visit the Donate Life website to learn how to become a registered organ and tissue donor in your state. You could potentially save the lives of eight people and enhance the lives of dozens more by simply registering to become an organ and tissue donor.

Time is running out to register for the 2009 C.A.R.E. 5K & 10K Run and Walk for Organ Donor Awareness! Register today at www.MilesOfCare.com!

The May 15th deadline for the discounted early bird team registration for the 2009 Paddling for Hope Dragon Boat Races is quickly approaching. Please visit www.PaddlingForHope.com to learn more!

Thought provoking question....

By Jenn Amendt

What if it were mandatory that all citizens of the United States were organ donors? Would that breach any human rights? Maybe there wouldn’t be so many people waiting for organs, but maybe more skeptics would arise?

In this post you can watch a clip from the View where the ladies argue both sides of the spectrum. Any thoughts?
